Later this year, Missouri voters will consider a ballot initiative that would gradually increase the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour and ensure that workers have access to paid sick leave. The initiative would provide a raise to nearly 1 in 4 Missouri workers. That’s over half a million Missourians, whose annual income would grow by over $1,000 annually on average.
Families all across Missouri stand to benefit from this increase – across the state, 16.2% of all private sector workers currently earn less than $15 an hour, and in every region of the state at least 12% of workers earn less than $15 an hour.
