Robert Wood Johnson Foundation "Cover the Uninsured" News Conference September 6, 2007 Columbia, Missouri
Speaking up for the reauthorization of SCHIP are (left to right): Beth Griffin, Executive Director, Citizens for Missouri's Children; Ted Groshong, MD, University of Missouri HealthCare; Lynette Nickleberry, mother of two children enrolled in SCHIP; Bishop Lorenzo Lawson, Chosen Generation Ministries; Amy Blouin, Executive Director, Missouri Budget Project; Representative Paul LeVota, Minority Floor Leader, Missouri House of Representatives. 
Lynette Nickleberry, a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia, spoke about the benefits of the State Children's Health Insurance Program for her two sons. Her 8-year-old has asthma and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. Both conditions are being effectively treated thanks to SCHIP health coverage. Ms. Nickleberry expects to receive her Ph.D. in Family & Human Services in 2009 and to teach at the college level. |
